Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he asked Donald Trump to use his talks with Xi Jinping to urge China to exert influence on Vladimir Putin to end the war or take de-escalation steps, particularly regarding energy and grain.

Zelenskyy asked Trump to discuss the issue with Xi during his visit to the US, noting that Xi has influence on Putin.

Zelenskyy noted that possible de-escalation steps could include energy and grain agreements.

Zelenskyy added that Trump had promised to convey this message to Xi Jinping.

Valentin Bogdanov of VGTRK asked Zelensky when he would visit Moscow on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Zelensky responded to the question with 'On a rocket' and an obscenity.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki called on the international community to respond decisively, consistently and jointly to Russia's actions during the general debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

Nawrocki stated that Russia is destabilizing Europe through open aggression, hybrid operations, acts of sabotage and subversion, and displayed imperial arrogance similar to that preceding world wars.

Nawrocki emphasized that Poland is strengthening alliances and modernizing its military to prevent war, not to wage it, and regards NATO as the guarantor of Europe's security.

Speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York on Thursday, Sikorski said: “We are receiving information (...) we are not revealing the sources, but there are many [of them], that Russia is preparing something big this year.”

He also said the Kremlin might use the operation as a pretext for further mobilization efforts in Russia.

European Council President António Costa said during his address to the UN General Assembly in New York that the international community must use all available leverage on Moscow to bring the war to an end.
