Ukraine and the European Commission agreed to convene a financial team to discuss bringing forward funds from the second tranche to cover the cost of drones and address the funding shortfall.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine would send a financial team for talks on bringing forward some of the funds from the second tranche because they need money for drones.

The Ukrainian outlet ZN.UA said, citing diplomatic sources, that a trilateral meeting is being arranged in New York between Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Ukrainian president’s office, and U.S. and Russian special envoys Steve Witkoff and Kirill Dmitriev.

Russia denies the report of the arranged trilateral meeting.

Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal discussed priority cooperation programs in the energy sector with Anna Bjerde, the World Bank's Managing Director of Operations, at a meeting in New York.

Shmyhal stated that cooperation is focused on additional financing for the Re-PoWER and STATCOM projects and mobilizing private investment in Ukraine's energy sector.

Shmyhal reported that the total value of joint energy projects with the World Bank has reached about $800.4 million.

He and Trump spoke about Ukraine's urgent need for Patriot supplies as winter nears, but no concrete decisions were announced following their talks.

ZN.UA reported that a trilateral meeting could take place in the US on September 24 to discuss an energy ceasefire.

The reported Ukrainian delegation included Kyrylo Budanov and Rustem Umerov, the US delegation included Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, and the Russian delegation included Kirill Dmitriev.
