Polish special forces will travel approximately 100 km from the Hohenfels base to the Grafenwöhr training area as part of the exercise scenario.

Polish special forces are taking part in US-led drills focused on drone warfare as Poland seeks to bolster its capabilities in the event of a potential confrontation with Moscow.

The exercise was initially developed for the Green Berets and was designed around Ukraine’s battlefield experience in its war with Russia.

This is the first time a NATO ally such as Poland has taken part in the training.

During the drills, Polish forces will operate under a scenario in which they must covertly bypass enemy positions, travel about 100 kilometers through German countryside controlled by a simulated adversary, and use a drone to strike an important target.

The exercise is planned to take place several times a year and may eventually include military personnel from most or all 32 NATO countries.

US special forces stated they are using lessons learned from Ukraine to replicate effects that Russia or Ukraine have to overcome.
