Oleh Syniehubov stated on Facebook that Russian attacks on Kharkiv and 16 other settlements resulted in two deaths and 13 injuries.

Oleksandr Shyrshyn stated on August 28 that cannabis and scales were planted in his car by police in Kharkiv while he was driving past a traffic accident scene.

Shyrshyn suggested that Oleh Shyriaiev, commander of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment, could be involved in planting the drugs.

Journalist Anna Kaliuzhna stated that a large amount of cannabis was planted in Shyrshyn's car and that an attempt was made to disable the vehicle's alarm beforehand.

In July, Ukrainian media outlet Texty published audio recordings allegedly capturing Shyriaiev ordering Ukrainian soldiers to be shot if they abandoned positions without authorization.

An investigation by Ukrainian media outlet Babel into the 425th 'Skelia' Regiment identified several alleged cases of harsh treatment and torture of soldiers, along with a high rate of non-combat casualties.

In February 2026, a court overturned the disciplinary reprimand imposed on Shyrshyn by the military command.

Shyrshyn called the command's orders during the Kursk operation in Russia 'idiotic' on May 16, 2025, and later resigned.

Oleksandr Syrskyi ordered that Shyrshyn be deemed 'undisciplined' after Shyrshyn criticized military leadership.

During Syrskyi's tenure, the 225th and 425th Separate Assault Regiments reported directly to higher military command and operated in dangerous sectors with heavy casualties.

National Police and the SBU did not comment on Shyrshyn's accusations at the time of publication.
