The High Anti-Corruption Court ordered former Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra to be held in custody, with the option of release on bail set at UAH 20 million.

The High Anti-Corruption Court on Aug. 25 placed Iryna Mudra in custody for two months and set bail at UAH 20 million ($448,000).

Prosecutors initially sought Mudra's detention and a bail of UAH 150 million ($2.7 million).

Mudra was charged by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau as part of a money laundering case involving Vadym Stolar and Maksym Mykytas.

The court ordered Maksym Mykytas's detention on Aug. 21, setting bail at UAH 30 million ($671,000).

Suspects were accused of laundering UAH 150 million ($3.4 million) in bail money through Sense Bank for a suspect in a separate corruption case.

Investigators allege that Mudra was expected to help raise funds needed to post bail for former Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Mudra on Aug. 19 following the charges.

NABU released recordings on Aug. 20 implicating Mudra in an alleged criminal group that illegally seized real estate.

Mudra has denied any wrongdoing.
