Ukraine plans to present a request for US$20 billion at the next meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group on 18 June.

Ukraine requested an additional $20 billion military aid from allies to intensify strikes against Russia. The request will be made on June 18 at the next meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine Defense.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and other officials raised the funding issue with representatives of Norway, Sweden, Germany, and Canada. Each ally was proposed to contribute between $2-6 billion.

The aid request will be a key topic at the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara in July, where Volodymyr Zelenskyy will attend.

Ukraine plans to use the funds for air defense, expanding the PURL program (purchasing US weapons), drones, ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, long-range strikes, and direct purchases from Ukrainian defense companies.

Partners have already committed $38 billion in military aid for this year.
