An explosive device detonated in a Toyota Land Cruiser in a parking lot near a residential building on Sinyavinskaya Street in Moscow.

The victim of the explosion was 49-year-old GRU Major Andrey Torgashov.

The injured man was another military officer – a colonel of Russia's General Staff also called Torgashov who worked in military unit 45807.

An officer from Russia's foreign intelligence agency has reportedly been injured by a car bomb in Moscow, Kremlin state media reported on July 24.

The TASS news agency said the man had his feet blown off in the attack, which targeted a Toyota Land Cruiser.

The Kommersant newspaper said the man serves in the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU).

Russia's Interior Ministry said two people had been injured in the attack, caused by the detonation of an unidentified device.

His wife had been injured, and five other cars were damaged.

Deputy head of the satellite communication center of the Russian Armed Forces, Andrei Torgashov, suffered traumatic amputation of both feet after a bomb went off in his car in Moscow.

The explosion occurred in the morning of July 24 in the parking lot outside the serviceman's home as he was getting into a car.

An explosive device had been planted into the car in advance.

A woman, who is believed to be Torgashov's wife, was also injured in the explosion.

The victim and his wife are both in intensive care in grave condition.

The victim is an officer with the GRU defense intelligence.
