German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall has received a framework contract from the Bundeswehr that covers the delivery of 155mm artillery ammunition, including for Ukraine. The contract worth up to EUR 8.5 billion was signed on June 20, 2024.
The recipient countries are Germany, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Estonia and Denmark.
The order is primarily intended to increase the stocks of the German Armed Forces and its allies and to support Ukraine in its defensive struggle.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2025.
