US President Joe Biden on Friday pledged his support for Ukraine and announced another $225 million in aid to Kyiv as he met Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky for talks in Paris.

The United States will provide Ukraine with a new $225 million military aid package including Stinger anti-aircraft missiles and HIMARS ammunition, along with other munitions.

The aid package includes mortar systems, artillery shells, missiles for the HAWK air defense system, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, armoured vehicles, and patrol boats.

The package is provided under the President's arms reduction authority to remove systems from existing US stockpiles for quick frontline delivery.

Ukrainian Defence Forces may use weapons from this package to strike targets inside Russia to protect Kharkiv from a Russian attack.
