Source Reports

According to media reports, on 12 May, explosions occurred in the Russian city of Belgorod, resulting in the collapse of the entrance of a high-rise building.

It is also reported that the roof of the destroyed building fell on rescuers who were clearing the rubble.

At least four people were killed and 35 injured, though later reports mentioned seven dead. Russian officials have not confirmed any deaths.

Russian governor Vyacheslav Gladkov blamed Ukraine for the incident, claiming Ukrainian troops fired at the building.

Russian Ministry of Defense claimed Ukrainian troops used Tochka-U tactical missiles, Vilha and RM-70 Vampire multiple-launch rocket systems.

Russian Ministry of Defense stated air defenses destroyed six Tochka-U missiles, four Vampyr rockets, and two Vilha rockets, with fragments damaging the building.

Andriy Kovalenko of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation suggested the building was likely blown up from inside, not by external shelling.
