Ukrenergo introduces temporary measures to limit power consumption from 18:20 to 22:00 in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Poltava and Sumy oblasts due to insufficient generating capacity from recent Russian attacks on power plants and increased evening consumption.

The dispatch centre of Ukrenergo, Ukraine's national energy company, is forced to introduce temporary measures to limit power consumption from 18:20 to 22:00 in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Poltava and Sumy oblasts.

The reason for the restrictions is the lack of sufficient generating capacity in the grid to cover consumption in certain oblasts.

Power cutoffs were in place from 6:20 p.m. Kyiv time to 10 p.m. in Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Poltava, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kirovohrad oblasts

The reason behind the April 4 scheduled blackouts is the lack of generating capacity in the energy system to cover consumption in the said regions

This is a consequence of the latest massive Russian attacks on Ukrainian power plants
