German Finance Minister Christian Lindner stated at the Free Democratic Party Congress that Germany would continue its comprehensive support to Ukraine but called on other EU member states to increase their contributions.

Germany already provides half of all aid to Ukraine

Germany can and will continue to make contributions to Ukraine and can mobilize more military and financial support if necessary

Other EU member states should increase their contributions to Ukraine

Christian Lindner stated that Germany is already responsible for half of the European aid for Ukraine and will not step back from its commitments.

Lindner noted it is unacceptable for Germany to do even more so that others can continue to do too little.

German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said at the European Liberal Party Conference in Berlin that Germany is doing its part but Europe must do more, and it cannot be the case that Germany does more so others can do too little.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said earlier in January that Germany's military support for Ukraine is insufficient to compensate for the deficit from other EU countries.

We are delivering arms to Ukraine for a victory in which, alas, even the Ukrainian generals no longer believe.

This war must be brought to an end and very quickly through negotiations.
