On December 12, 2023, Kyivstar became the target of a powerful hacker attack which led to a technical failure.

It was a well-planned and professional attack from all perspectives – not only from the cyber angle but also from the telecoms perspective. It's an enormous hit on the infrastructure.

Technicians had discovered a perimeter vulnerability which was used by hackers.

A large-scale failure occurred at Kyivstar mobile operator on December 12 due to a powerful hacker attack.

The SSU is investigating the cyberattack, considering Russian special services as potential perpetrators.
