The status of an international war sponsor has been suspended for OTP Bank, as well as five Greek shipping companies, whom Kyiv accused of illegally transporting Russian oil bypassing the price cap.
This decision was made as a result of negotiations between the Agency's representatives and representatives of companies and governments in these countries to terminate cooperation with the Russian Federation.
They were hoping for Hungary to unblock the tranche of EUR 500 million from the European Peace Fund in response.
The move concerns the Hungarian OTP Bank and five Greek shipping companies: Dynacom Tankers Management, Delta Tankers, Thenamaris Ships Management, Minerva Marine, and TMC Tankers.
The NACP hopes that this will lead to Hungary's unblocking of €500 million of vital EU military aid for the Ukrainian people.
The decision to temporarily suspend their inclusion on the list was made following negotiations between NACP representatives and representatives of companies and governments in these countries.
OTP Bank was added to the list in May 2023, while the shipping companies have been on the list since August 2023.
