As a result of the detailed information their scouting provided Ukraine mounted a combined drone and missile strikes against the target on Sept. 21 killing at least 30 Russian servicemen as well as damaging several aircraft and vital equipment.
At least 12 Su-24 and Su-30 combat aircraft along with a Pantsir missile system were stationed at the airfield.
