During the first wave of attacks on the evening of 5 August, the Russians used 14 sea-based Kalibr missiles and 3 aeroballistic Kh-47 Kinzhal missiles. 12 out of the 14 Kalibr missiles were destroyed by Ukrainian air defence.
The Russians continued launching attacks on the territory of Ukraine overnight on 5 August with Shahed-136/131 combat drones coming in from the southeast, with Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea, and with Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles fired from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft from the area of the Caspian Sea.
