As of the morning of 12 June, the flood level in Kherson dropped to 3m 29cm, while in Mykolaiv the water dropped by 6 cm overnight.
It's the seventh day of the response to the aftermath of the the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant. As of now, the water continues to recede and has already reached 3m 29cm, a 64cm drop compared to yesterday evening.
The dam destruction has severely impacted irrigation and groundwater levels, threatening crop production in the region.
As of June 12, the Kakhovka reservoir had decreased by 50% with 60-70% less water than before the explosion.
General Director Ihor Syrota warned of serious environmental consequences if water levels drop below 3 meters.
