Freedom of Russia Legion has shared a video which shows smoke rising over several sites in the city of Shebekino in Russia's Belgorod Oblast, near the border with Ukraine. The legion hinted that its fighters might have been behind the fires.

The video showed 'the result of concentrating enemy forces in the city'.

The Free Russia Legion claimed members fought Russian forces on the outskirts of Novaya Tavolzhanka in Belgorod region.

Moscow said it thwarted a Ukrainian attempt to penetrate into Belgorod on its southwestern border at about 3 a.m. Overall, the attack involved up to 70 militants, 5 tanks, 4 armored vehicles, 7 pickup trucks and 1 Kamaz truck.

The night passed restlessly in Belgorod with Air Defense Forces working and shelling from volley fire systems causing damage and civilian casualties.

Worst consequences were reported in Sobolivka (Valuysky district), with cars damaged in Rozumny and further investigation into injuries in Shebekino ongoing.
