About Ukraine Truth

Ukraine Truth is a news aggregator focused on the Russia-Ukraine war. It exists to help readers distinguish verified ground truth from narrative spin. Each story is parsed into events and each event into people, places and things. Ukraine Truth invites the public to coorborate or contradict any event with additional news sources.

Our Approach

We use primary sources — boots-on-the-ground journalists and analysts with direct access to events — as our truth signal. Their work is characterized by specific, verifiable claims: dates, locations, unit numbers, and named sources. We build infrastructure to amplify their reach, cross-verify their claims, and flag when mainstream narratives don't match ground reality.

We read the sources, compare the claims, and assign a confidence rating based on a weighted reliability algorithm. We show our work so readers can evaluate for themselves.

Editorial Principles

• No editorializing. We present sources and let readers decide.
• Show our work. Every confidence rating is explainable.
• Acknowledge uncertainty. “We don’t know” is a valid answer.
• Accuracy over speed. We’d rather be right tomorrow than wrong today.
• Track corrections. When we’re wrong, we say so and explain what changed.
